Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
How is Structure Different from Other Chiropractors?
No double booking, no rushed appointments, no contracts, no upsells. Every session is one-on-one with Dr. Valdez for at least an hour. Most chiropractors do a quick adjustment and send you on your way. At Structure, each visit combines hands-on soft tissue work, precise adjustments when appropriate, and strength and rehab exercises built around your specific situation. The clinic is equipped with a Leander flexion-distraction table, a full gym, and Hyrox and Deka specific equipment including a ski-erg and sled. You won't find that combination anywhere else in Carlsbad.
Do You Take Insurance?
No. Here's the honest reason: insurance-heavy practices deal with high overhead and heavy claim volume, which usually means five-minute appointments and a revolving door of patients. That's not how this works. At Structure, the shortest appointment is a full hour with Dr. Valdez's undivided attention, limited to five patients per day.
Most chiropractic insurance co-pays (that’s what you pay out of pocket per visit) run around $40. A 60-minute maintenance visit at Structure is $125 — a difference of $85. What you get for that difference is real time, real attention, and results that actually stick. We take cash and all major credit cards.
Where Are You Located? Where Should I Park?
We are located in the Bluwater Crossing lofts, adjacent to the Poinsettia Rail Station at 6860 Embarcadero Lane, Carlsbad, CA 92011. There is plenty of parking available. Note: your GPS may take you to the east side of the building. If that happens, exit back onto Avenida Encinas, make a left, and proceed until you see the large Poinsettia Station sign. Enter the large parking lot there and our office is about three quarters of the way down the building.

How Do I Book a Visit?
Book online at structure.janeapp.com. First visits are 90 minutes. Follow-up visits are 60 minutes or more. Flexible hours Monday through Friday, with select weekend slots available by appointment. Need an unusual time? Call or text 832.689.5022 and we'll do our best to accommodate you. In pain after hours? Reach out and if Dr. Valdez is available he'll get you in.
What Should I Wear to My Appointment?
Please wear comfortable clothing you can move around in.
Can I Work Out During My Visit in Addition to Physiotherapy?
Absolutely. Select the 90 or 120 minute option at structure.janeapp.com. Dr. Valdez will coach you through a private one-on-one workout in the fully equipped gym, combined with adjustments and soft tissue work. The clinic has Hyrox and Deka specific equipment including a ski-erg and sled — gear you won't find in most gyms.
What Should I Expect After My Visit?
Drink plenty of water. Your joints and muscles were worked and hydration supports recovery.
Keep moving. Gentle walking and easy movement boost blood flow after an adjustment. Hold off on intense training and discuss timing with Dr. Valdez based on what was worked on.
Do your exercises. If you were given rehab exercises, do them. That's where a lot of the real progress happens between visits.
Listen to your body. Mild soreness, stiffness, or tingling can be normal as your body responds to treatment. A warm Epsom salt bath or gentle stretch can help.
